Politic, Borelitik or Borektik - Part 2

Almarhum Tan Sri Azizan bin Zainal Abidin (1932-2004)

Read a poem today by Faiz Ahmad Faiz like to share with you.

SPECK

speck,your lips are free.
speck,it is your tounge.
speck,it is your own body.
speck,your life is still yours.

See how in the blacksmith's shop
The flame burns wild,
the iron glows red,
The locks open their jaws,
and every chain begins to break.

Speck, this brief hours is long enough
Before the death of body and tounge.
Speck, 'cause truth is not dead yet,
Speck,speck
whatever you must speck

-Faiz Ahmad Faiz-
Poet 1911-1984

Politician come and go but leaders are born and groom for and with it.
You wish to challenge this bold statement.Pleased do.I'll be waiting.
Here's my facts.

Believe me,within a decade the new generation will forget a man very much sinonim with PUTRAJAYA AND PETRONAS.
Almarhum Tan Sri Azizan bin Zainal Abidin.Al.Fatiha.
An ophan from Penang whom together steered and steward our development to where we are today.Groom and brought up by the Che Teh's family and wed off to Almarhum Che Teh's beautiful daughter Yg.Bhg.Puan Sri Noraini Che Teh.
Bless with beautiful successful children.

I personnally met Almarhum Tan Sri, only on two occassion.
First, when he was still the Under Secetary with KDN way back in early 70's.
Yes..yes I know the Ops Lalang what so ever, even grouches by some quaters on the ISA issue, the Sidek Ghaous incident,Two Dollahs,Mamali's ,AKUI etc.etc, all are recorded history.
Second much later when he came to my cousin sister Maz wedding at kampong in 1994.
I can't remember much on the first meeting coz I was still a wee lad then, but I knew for sure his presence and personality then shows sign of an important man from Kuala Lumpur.
A personality where any reasonable 'kampong boy' would ditto copy.

I remember how envy I was with his shoes.
Real Black leather and shinning.
It was much later when I'm out of my cocoon,I knew one could buy a jolly good pair of imported of Locker,Bally,Clark,Salamander at either P Lal store,Johyti or have it custom made at Nam King cobblers along (used to)Jln.Medan Tengku Abd.Rahman, but it cost a fortune then.

The second meeting , when he was already a Tan Sri.
I recall him coming, drove with his family members all the way from KL to my little village ,unchauffered.
Being in position he still find time to be at my humble family home for the jubliant occassion.
Casually not over dress, eating at 'Majlis Kahwin orang kampong' just like any ordinary folks, genuine smile all along and humble.
I rememberd offering him a second helping of 'Nasi Minyak'

'...Tan Sri jemput tambah lagi......'

his answer was spontanous,in thick Penang accent,
'..lah...awat hang panggil formal-formal ni..Anam Izan aje dahlah!!
I recall his remark,.....hangkan anak Anam Malek!
Yes,Almarhum Pak Malek was my uncle and a father to me too.
He didn't have a son, only Maz my cousin sister whom we were brought up together.

Yes,ibok was a working lady,Mak Nyah, my aunt took care of my welfare and groom me all along my primary and secondary schooling years.
Lucky me, I have 3 diffrent fathers(an uncle, real father and step dad) which took care of my welfare, health and wealth.
All are my mentors and it was from all three I learn the facts of life.
Like a wise man advising his son,

'son!....anything good come from me,your father but
anything bad come from your willy"

The meeting was a short one.
From a reasonable man point of view, there is no way one could claim one is close to someone, after merely two short meeting.

It takes a life time to know a person.
His temprement, his honesty, his down to earth altitude.
However,I can assured you,Almarhum Tan Sri Azizan,
is a man with high intergrity ,respected and down to earth person despite all the status he attain in life.A character, only speck when are spoken to!

Here's my story,

It was Ramadan 2005,Me and my other half breaks our fast then at
The Alamanda ,Putrajaya open cafe.
After a short snack I proceed to Alamanda Surau for 'Jemmah Maghrib'.I miss the first takbir and proceed with the rest.
The Imam whom leads the prayers faces the Kiblat all the way till the sholat and doa is over. When its over, he stood up facing the jemaah.

Allahu Akhbar.
In a split second, this Imam looks precisely of late Tan Sri Azizan.
The personality and trade mark befits him.
I approached and whisper to him,

'..Tuan,wajah tuan seakan-akan mirip wajah Almarhum Tan Sri Azizan.
He didn't say a word and varnish in split second.

Lillah.I am willing to take a 'Bayyinah' coz it is the 'haq an'nas ainal haqqul al yakin'

Both Tan Sri and TDM are close and both had dreams for the reality of Putrajaya existence at heart.
Tan Sri the executor and TDM the 'Planner'.Both are philotropist.

It was on one of the last 10 days of Ramadan.I am assured.
I kept the mystical meeting all by myself ,until I met his daughter 'Datin' and his son Amir Hamzah at a 'majlis tahlil' some years ago and told them the actual event.

The moral of the story is:

'God pick his rightfull khalifah via the voice of the people, and definately he chooses and pick the wise and able one'.

ONLY THE ABLE ONE!!!!

Al.Fatiha.

Politic, Borelitik or Borektik

Politic oh politic what a lulu, a shame you may call me,
If you dont believe me try reading or see the film 'Cry Beloved Country' by Alan Paton
I have none what so ever inclination towards it.
But that doesn’t mean I got no knowledged of it.
Like my brother in clad,we are the 'Minang Murtad'.
I could be as loud as you wanna me to be!

A firm believer in Article 3 till 13 and 121 of the Federal Constitution particularly Article 5 and agreed absolute agreed with Raja Azlan Shah cj (as he was then) in the Judgement of DBKL V Sri Lembah Enterprise.

I have no political thought and political wings inclination of any form even though my up bring years was full with Socio-Political book since my schooling days.
I read Karl Marx,Lenin,Mathadma Ghandi,Mendela,Bishop Desmond Tutu etc.etc till Anita Baker even the Satanic Verses but didn't digest.
I got the Malay Delemma by Tun ,way back in '75 in Singpore shopping, while it was still been outlawed.
'Revolusi Mental' by Senu Abd.Rahman was my 15 the birthday present given by my uncle and 'Kelas Menegah Melayu' by Dr.Nordin Selat was my reading at Form 3.
I was bored with school text book instead my shopping list then, would be comics and SOPO kind of writing plus antologi by Keris Mas,Salmi Manja,Latif Mohiddin and article by groupy 'Anak Alam' base at Panggung Experimental then, intrest me.

Been reading S.H Al'attas since schooling days,'Perang di Kuala Linggi' and many more, personnaly since my student days I regard it as 'Political Junk books'and to my surprise many local political pundits refers to his books as an indication of our political climate.

It is not to my liking, instead of referering to George Bernard Shaw or Isaiah Berlin as point or reference or Sheikh Maududi or the very least Faris Noor.

Well, but it sells to the masses and he do make good bucks from his effort,
but....the masses at large become political junkies, swamps with gossip and back stabbing in the political kow-tao,instead of purelism sort of 'to believe or not to believe'.
However he too, like me took the baayat with Sheihk Nazim (refers to Dec.posting)

Berdosa tahu!
But I am firm beliver in 'JUSTICE,FAIR AND PROGRESS'

My background both ibok and ayah side one way or another are both inter mingle with it.
On ayah roots is of one of the West Sumatraian pious and nationalistic scholar not recorded in any Malaysian History journal.
You find the link here.

Has you heard of Sheikh Sulaiman Al Rasuli?

I must say,if you haven’t,some history lesson on line here.
Great-great Grand dad met his Lord in 1956.Al Fatiha.

I was digging the old photos at Ibu Jak home in Kedoya some years ago and I saw this potriat of Buya Hamka leading a congregational prayers at a muslim cemetery.I suppose Allahyarham Buya Hamka was performing ‘Salatun Jenazah Ghaibin’ prayers done when one has already been buried according to the Muslim ritual.

I notice one very familiar face among the makmum on the congrational prayers.
He was on a ‘Songkok Hitam’ his trade mark and his Ray Ban Dark Glasses,a full attire in an Army Suit.Very exquisite.

Sukarno!!!
That’s him in the picture taken, performing salatul Jenazah Ghaib together with Sahibbul Sammaa’ Murshyid Almarhum Prof.Dr.Hj.Abd Malik bin Abd.Karim Amrumullah(HAMKA).on the the grave site of my Inyik Candung as he is passionately known among his murid and the general public.
His work still stand strong till this day at Candung,Madrasah Tabliyah Muhammadiah Candung.
Graduates from Talbiyah Muhammmadiah Candung are qualified teachers acknowledge by the R.I Department Agama and R.I Department Pendidikan Nasional.
To cut the bio-blogroll short, he was one of the 'Pejuang Bangsa Yang Hakiki' together Almarhum Agus Salim,Hatta,Hamka and the West Sumatrarian clan and the PNI leaders, Sukarno fight for Merdeka in 1946.

Atuk, his son was sentence to excile to Melaka back in the late 20's for fighting against the colonial rule back then.
His son,my uncle Om.Makmur and my Papa Jak was imprisonment by the Sukarno, during the 'Confrontasi Era' in the early 60's
It causes Papa Jak good job in Padang and thus forces him and family migrate to Jakarta in 1966 to find a better pasture.
Alhamdullillah, his is 'cream della cream' of the society in Jakarta today.

As far as ayah is concerned,he does not has any inclination towards politics what so ever.
He has been tame by the British.Like what he does best, that is sports till his retirement days.
No radical political thought in ayah.He follows the wind.

Ibok side.High achivers.
Have you heard 'Perang Tiga Segi' between Riau-Lingga,Dutch and Johore.Johore Empire was back by the Bugis Makassar,Riau by the Dutch and Acheh on it own.
The 'BUGIS' leads by Raja Ali Haji ancestors of Daeng Memanik leads the battle.
This unrecorded genelogist of the family tree was recorded and written by Almarhum my late great grand uncle,my grand dad first cousin Almarhum Hj.Mohd Khalid bin Hj.Abu Bakar(Joe Carlos) but never publish.
Al.Fatiha.Man.........what a man,well spoken and learned man,trim and proper.

The kampong folks could clarified what a standing ovation man he was.
Brave and Bold, thats what the grand old man like.

Him,tracing and tracking the family roots trace back to the days of Raja Ali Haji sttlement at Ketapang ie.an old name for Telok Mas where Hendry Gurney Schools for Boys are located.
Originally,Telok Ketapang was a POW camp for the Bugis caught rebelling against the Dutch. You could name it 'The Dutch Slaughter House'.

It was after the 1824 treaty when Malacca was exchange for Batavia by the Dutch to the Englich EIC,the Bugis rebels was release and find their way home either to Makassar or settling in the area within Telok Mas,Alai,Pernu.
Settling best for, what ever the catch of the day was.

Tracking from verbal document, demostrate by Almarhum my great -grand uncle, the family roots was the first cousin of Shayhid Raja Ali Haji,to remind you,Raja Ali Haji was hang by the Dutch Authority at Telok Ketapang.
His sin was rebelling against foreign colonizer.

Ibok rooting was Alai.
The 'BUGIS', man...........legend brave sea farers, fierce and fire, good merchant and pious people.
Remember the Spice Trade and Ambionan Makassar Rampage.
The ethnic cleansing by the Dutch in Makassarian, reasons was, the Dutch EIC wanted to take control the Spice monopoly helds by the Bugis.
The family tree even though yet to be proven but it is a reliable piece of information.

Tracking my family temprement all the essence is there.

Wait till I publish ,as I have promise one of my uncle, his auto-biography on his life as an SB while serving in the S.P.F back in the 60's,where the nation was swamps with highly organised crimes, internal bricking between S'pore and us, the problems confronted ,The Natrah story,Cleaning The Street from MOB,the underground API AWAS,Trade Union etc 'The Untold Stories'.Gang Fight,The Indonesian Comandor etc, etc.
It was from him I learn the 'LAW' and the essence of the Penal Code.
After serving with total dedication and knowing this man seriousness while executing his job, a rank and file promoted to an Inspector and being the youngest Sargent Major in the force,he couldn't be wrong in the untold tales from the 'South of the Border'.But faith has it tale and toll.

After retiring for nearly 40 years living on a pension, merely $150 a month from the Singapore govt.I thought our Malaysian Police retirement plan had a better deal.

Well,we do come from a well fierces fighter with a caused and definately we are not a rebel rouser.
Quoting from great novelist Pramoedya Anan Teor,
'...kalian memang benar-benar asli, aslinya sebuah Keluarga Gerilya...'
Sa'aman the hero in the novel remarks to his sister Fatimah and another fav. of mine'

Sa'aman advising his sister Fatimah,
'......Tim,sekolah dek?,

My words is
'....teruslah....

TO BE CONTINUE.........after election

King Rat

This film hits me.I read and saw the film a while back.
Its based on stories of the POW camp during the Japanese occupation.
Some good story base line message.
The title itself represent the message.Among alliance, there would be treachery and arm twisting deal too.

The word 'rat'itself has diffrent meaning and various interpretation.
If someone be called 'a rat' in underground lingo all it means never trust a person.
A manipulative and cunning person for betraying a friendship bondage built.
It happends particularly to a person face with serious allegation in trying to escape any charges brought againts him by turning informer.
Thats how cheap a person can be.

Rats a dangerous species. It represents dirt and a pest to householder.
It is a unhealty creature.
You would find plenty cripping on the street where major food joints and many of them in colony around Bangsar.

Some how, we also have 'living rat'.
In office politics its normal to find rats among us.
In real politics it normal especially now during these pre election fever.
I smell rat this time of the year and a heavy over weight one too.

Some are not rats but mice or hampster which is harmless and are home pet and healty to keep in the house.
As George Owen 'Animal Farm' line.....all animals unite!!
Its time to work.......

All I can say 'until the Falcon meets the Falconeers' no one could be trusted while the election fever is on.

What ever it is, To 'Would be or Wanna be King Rats,
my humble request
'Don't be a rat' and 'Get ready to be experimented in the Science Lab and Beware the rat trap!

There would be question like,
where did you get the Dirty Food!!
From the people?

Only fools knows the value of a lame horse!!!!

George Segal plays Corporal King, an American soldier in a Japanese prison camp who manages all the black market operations amongst the enforced holding of a group of English and Americans. His demeanor and bearing stand out in contrast to the rag tag prisoners he shares the camp with in part because of his willingness to ostensibly advance on the needs of others. He is constantly scrutinized by Lieutenant Grey (Tom Courtenay), the camp police chief as he has gotten reports that King has robbed fellow prisoners in a poker game. It is clear that King takes pleasure in living on what would be considered a clear example of the American Capitalist version of supply and demand, and seeks ways to increase his organization by recruiting talented men like Peter Marlowe (James Fox), an English soldier who speaks fluent Japanese, but refuses Kings offering of money for his services. Marlowe attempts to live by a code that bonds men in way that transcends any financial gain, and in fact considers King an actual friend because he and the American are interred together under Japanese rule. King extends his operation to include trading valuables to the Japanese and breeding rats to sell as food to the officers as a delicacy, activities that Marlowe is happy to aid in because of the smart commercial way that the schemes are launched. The ability to gain valuable items including medical supplies becomes important when Fox injures himself and faces serious physical danger. As Lieutenant Grey closes in to mete out the camp law enforcement his code of conduct conflicts with Marlowe, his cabin mate. Theirs is a philosophy differing slightly and both based on survival with the most reaffirming respect for fellow man they can develop under these war conditioners. As Grey attempts to arrest King and Marlowe for their criminal activity it becomes clear that the commanding officers live by a fractured value system.

Long Live The Truth Ya Haq.

What so special about Valentine?

It was a while back I wrote in the blog 10 people I personaly knew whom doesn't practice polygamy.

Hmmmm.....its thought provoking subject.
I suppose one man meat, other man poison kind of situation.

I have a deep thought after recieving an intresting article posted by my sister in Jak.Glad to share it but I really has limited time to translate the story in English.

Its about a man married for 35 years with 4 children, caring and nursing his beloved wife for 25 odd years with tender care, love, devotion and not a bit of thought to practice polygamy.Even given the blessing from his adult children.
His love to his bed ridden wife remain the same just as the vowed he made during the sodomise 'akad' ceremony 35 years ago,
'....in health,in wealth in pain and in hunger,so help me God.'

25 years caring for a stroke patience in something.
I know definate,in matter of fact we,at home nurse our dear father for 2 years before his dimise last 27 of Ramadan 1427 H.It will be 100 days tahlil ceromony this coming 9th.Febuary.'The Father In Law' to me and a very-very respectable man and is closed in my heart.

Lillah.I bare witness to Al Mighty,
this man position 'should be' in the 'Jannatul Naim'.Amin.

As the story goes 'what impress me most is his words when he was interview by a local tv station

'....Jika manusia didunia ini mengagungkan sebuah cinta tapi dia tidak mencintai karena Allah semuanya akan luntur'
translated
'if mankind cherish love more than Allah and doesn't loved becaused of Allah,
all will be destroyed'

hmmmmm...yes,yes,yes...some deep thought.
Go ahead its a nice thought provoking piece.
'What is this foolish thing call love'
It a tittle of a jazz ballad by Art Pepper

Based on True Story..

mengangkat istrinya keatas tempat tidur

Sebelum berangkat kerja dia letakkan istrinya didepan TV supaya istrinya
selepas maghrib dia temani istrinya nonton televisi sambil menceritakan
apa2 saja yg dia alami seharian.

Bahkan dia selalu menggoda istrinya setiap berangkat tidur.

hanya satu semua anaknya berhasil. Dengan kalimat yg cukup hati2 anak yg
sulung berkata " Pak kami ingin sekali merawat ibu, semenjak kami kecil

menginginkan keadaanya seperti Ini.kalian menginginkan bapak bahagia, apakah
sekarang".kalian menginginkan bapak yg masih diberi Allah kesehatan dirawat
Sejenak meledaklah
tangis anak2 Pak Suyatno merekapun melihat butiran2 kecil jatuh dipelupuk

.
saya Memilih istri saya menjadi
memberi saya 4 orang anak yg lucu2..

How many of us Man able to?
