Sagalo Nan Ado........Indak Maleh Urang Awak.

AKU

Kalau sampai waktuku
Ku mau tak seorang kan merayu
Tidak juga kau
Tak perlu sedu sedan itu
Aku ini binatang jalang Dari kumpulannya terbuang
Biar peluru menembus kulitku
Berlari Hingga hilang pedih peri
Dan aku akan lebih tidak perduli
Aku mau hidup seribu tahun lagi

Journey of Brother and Sister Part 1

Women of Substance by Barbara Taylor Bradford. It was a while back I read this emotional classic.A poor country girl, unfortunate circumstances fleed to big city London and make it good.
I am not a book reviewer neither my intention to write a sinopsis about the novel or films.Yes,it was also a hit tv series.Worth checking it out.I am sure a few pearl drops would do us good.

My,thought came running on Emma, the main character in the Jane Austen classic,
the 18th.centuary romantic novelist of the 'Pride and Prejudis' and 'Emma'.Those two classic would be a must in-cart for those into the literature.

Co-incidently the name reminds me of my youngest sister Emma in the land of white Dove. She's my most loveable sister of the two other sister of mine.
Her journey to London,England begins way back in 1983 in the pretext of studying.Study she did.I was still at my 2nd.year in the Poly then,we took the flight together on Thai Airways via Bangkok transiting.

Within a nick of a time, believe me we almost missed the flight, while in transitting .

Here's the story.

It was Emma's maiden, flight to anywhere. It was the furthest she's been, from a sleepy hollow Malacca.

At Subang International Airport,I met a dear friend of mine Zaini, she's was based in Bangkok,a stewardess with The Royal Saudi Airline.
She invited us to her apartment in down town Bangkok, knowing we has a few couple of hours before taking the connecting flight to London,Heathrow.

Zaini, gave us a good meal and a proper scrub on my hair by a Malaysian hair sylist in Bangkok.Talking about hair ,you bet mine that scruffy and weird long.Zaini insist that I had my hair cut.I obliged to her request. The visit to the saloon does do me an instant reformation.

Thanks Zai!!!I remember and cherish that!!
She send us back to the airport on time and I still have an hour or so before depart.I check in straight away and linger around at the transit lounge together with Emma.
I was so careless for not being prompt on the time, coz'at that particular era I do not own a watch.Well,it was not hip to wear a wrist watch, such was a hippy altitude then.

I was so into linggering at the transit lounge,I didn't notice or hear, our names was call out on the public announcement. It was merely 5 minutes before the flight take off, then I realised we had missed the flight.
We straight away dash to the entrance gate to catch the flight.
Mind you,the airport in the 80's were still in it manual stage.
One has to embark on the runways,a bus would take us to the desginate plane, but mine,I was so sure the plane to Heathrow was the one I saw at the entrance were already moving.
We make a dash to the runway.Me waving and screaming like a damm fool!!to the flight captain,I could see the captains cockpit from a distance, begging him to stop the plane.

One kind hearted ground staff, managed to radio the captain and after a few interception the moving plane, stilt for us.We board the plane in split second.
When we board the whole passenger in the plane did that stared look on both of us,probably, questioning mentally, how on earth those two 'wogs' managed to board the plane?

It was a smooth ride after the incident but upon safely arrived at Heathrow after the back breaking journey and another incident at the Immigration counter.!!

Indeed,it was the begining of a journey on the road of no return....!!

Moga Allah Memberkati Pertalian Kasih Mu

My dear Aida & Aidil,

Apa tanda hari nak petang,
Anak merbah terciap-ciap,
Apa tanda cinta nak datang,
Darah didada girap-gemirap.

Sembah takzim pembuka diri,
Tegahnya adat tamaddun berzaman,
Selamat menjalani Putri sehari,
Moga Allah berkati sepanjang perjalanan.

Ikan keli masak lemak,
Ikan sembilang digoreng lada,
Pesan emak kepada anak,
kalau tidur mesti waspada.

Pukul satu makan,
Pukul dua tidur,
Kalau dua-dua dah berkenaan,
Tak siapa pun boleh masok campur

Malam-malam dengar suling,
Suling merdu dari bambu,
Kalau nak kena pusing-pusing
Bila pusing makin jambu

Lagu reggea memang sedap,
Sedap lagi Melayu Asli,
Kalau ada yang menggendap,
Katakan saja 'For Private Viewing Only'.

Selamat Menjalani Kehidupan Yang Sebenar.

'Man is the General, Women is the Major,
Hubby make General decision and Wife makes The Major Decision'

Tahniah.

Mohd Aidil dan Cpt.(Dr)Nur Aida

Love,

Good Bye Aimi Ku Sayang...God Be with You Insyallah

It's nice to see a child turn to be a pretty young lady.

Aimi left for Melbourne,Australia today at 9.30pm MAS flight. She's a daughter to me though I am only an uncle to her.

I am sought of bouncer to her and Nana her younger sister.

Guarding and motivating since they were a child.I could say they were our pride and joy.

Did pretty well during last SPM exam with 7 A1 and 2 A2's.The result if it were during my time would be a definate on any JPA'S overseas scholarship's list but sad to say now, with the overboard straight A's it's impossible even to apply for one.

I for one have nothing against straight A's,but a little overboard of ossession of A's is a bit worrying coz' it has multiple effect on child phsyco enviroment.

Aimi will definately get a place at any local Matriculation course of her choise if she decides to do local but she has set her mind to go overseas.

Me since I myself study abroad encourage it,firstly it was overseas which broaden our horizen and 2nly.self development and self confidence in leading a life in the future.

Paper qualification are ample any where, but one's out look in life are rather differs if we are sheltered at home.

Those are the essential element in fighting sprites in life.

We were at first sceptical of any sponsorship offer, knowing fully well the competition is,but one good samaritan offers a full fledge sponsorship right till graduation.I would call it golden opportunities of the life time.
Allah bless the golden heart.Allah gives what he wishes to anyone deserve.

Aimi's deserve to be among the bright young generation of scholars.

Be well my 'mon petit la'per (French).God protects you and our love to you remains the same.

We are proud of you Dato and Datin,May Allah bestows rightoues to you and family.Amin

Football.....The Curi Ayam Game

**ayah 1952**

Yes..yes the football fever is on again.
Me like any others male species are hook to the game and could not resist to watch the live telecast.

Wow....hang on a minute, anyone has any interesting tale to tell about football?
Yes the 'curi ayam'slang meaning a foul play by footballers every time a players cross over before the ball reached the line.
What ever it means, it does mean something to our local foot pundits.

Me basically,my daily pocket money comes from football.
Yeap..ayah is a football umpire and active one too,
'Joe Play Go'- The Football Umpire the locals nick name him.
Call it a shot he will be there on any afternoon at the Bandar Hilir padang, that is before the Padang turns into a concreate jungle by the State Government, turning the Padang at first as a 'Sound and Lighting Arena' and later I don't know what other mall they wanted to build for a population of a small city of 100,000 population.
Gone with the playing fields supposed to dig the talented Malaccan football players and up the mass super shopping mall.
Well, any newly decorated so call city needed a brand new shopping mall,I supposed

Yes, being a football freak the Imam of my kampong, the late Iman Hj.Sapau is one freak of a footballer.
There was on one occasion, the Malacca Team led by 'The Towkey aka Soh Chin Ann" was playing for the FA Cup.It was the was the semi-finalist game,if I may recall. He refuses to leads the Fridays prayers solely to enable him to see the match at the Kubu Stadium.I wonder when will the new state Stadium would be ready?
It seems it take ages to built one.

The Padang do have historical significant.
Firstly, it was the first Padang where the Proclaimation of Independence was hail by 'The Tengku' in 1956 arriving back from the pre independence discussion with the English Authority.
During its hey day, the padang not only breezees with cooling air from the seas of the Straits of Malacca but fill with leisure activities in the evening.
After a football match ayah will walk with me to the nearest stall for supper of Rojak and Satay not forgetting Air Tebu at Wak Temu stall under the 'Old Gum tree' right facing the famous 'A Famosa'.Fresh food off course.
Arwah Wak Temu is the dad of the National Hockey player Kamaruddin Temu.

It was from this field the birth of our National Skipper, now a Dato Soh Chin Ann aka 'Towkeh' is born.So does the national hockeys players Tam Kuan Seng,Haridas,Zamani Othman,Razak Leman,Zulkifli Bakar and Adnan Bakar both are sibling is groom.
Those were the days we play football and hockey for the love of the game not for the sake of money. The pride to be able to represent the state was a honour and be look up at,since under 12 MSSM competition.

Ayah, an avid sportman ever since his young age till now has instill a high level of sportmanship in me ever since I was a wee lad.
Even though I do not excel in any sports but I do enjoy watching a good game.
It haves been instilled in me and it comes naturally.

That was how ayah got his extra money, by being a football umpire in the evening.
All the amature clubs matches, he will be there, umpiring the games.Ayah keep fit by running up and down the football feild.
Malacca has vast amount of amature football clubs, those days.Name it, Kubu United,Dunlop United,Lee Sports Club,MCI United,Kg.Morten F.C.
They were the pioneers in the minor league.

Each match the umpire service charge WAS RM5.00.Saturday and Sunday is a full schedual for ayah.At time he has to matches one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Thus if there is 5 games in a week there is an extra RM20.00 a week for ayah.
RM5.00 in early 60's is a big amount.
Considering a goverment clerk pay was only R150 a month and that is how he managed his finance to feed all four of us,educate, and dress us decently.

I bear witness to Allah Almighty, ayah is not a 'CORRUPT' government servant.
He leads his life decently and earn his piece of bread to feed us in a likely manner, far from the the element of corruption.

Anybody dares to challege this statement please do so 'BUT' beware the court is all hearing!

The evening collection will goes to his LP collection of Titik Puspha,Ernie Djohan,Lilie Suryani,S.Affendi.Bing Selamat,Gersang etc.etc.etc.Not to forgetting Matt Monroe,Big Brother Frank,King Nat etc etc.

It was from ayah I learn to appreciated collectable items.
Ayah has amazing oldies LP's and still in his possession at home.
The umpire fees, goes to his little collectable space nice and neatly arrange

His sportmanship brought him everywhere. He plays tennis for the RISDA sport club, and still plays tennis right up when he is retired up until he met with an fatal accident which causes him to limp.
A handicap man,now but he still does 'senamrobik' everyday.
You find him doing his routine at the Bukit Serindit Park everyday except when it is raining.

May Allah protect my beloved Ayah.
May be one day I tell the story how ayah tried to groom me to be a national tennis player and match me with Adam Malik the first Tennis Pro from Malaysia. Its a long to brag and it begins way back in 1970 when I was in Standard 5.

In the mean time there is only one Dad,that is My Ayah that has 'NEVER EVER'
"Curi Ayam To Feed His Entire Family"
Syukur Lillah my families purely tummy is clean.

That Is My Inyik.- Sheihk Sulaiman AlRasuli Candung

Memegang Teguh Mazhab Syafi'i

Tok Wak and Awah Mak

Date.....What Date..............?
Another year another resolution!
Hmmm....another dairy....what non sense!!!! I can't remember anyone whom keep his dairy to the maximum filled with memos and important notes.
Who ever told you either his or her diary is full with squibble written in it is a " LIAR!"
Name it,high ranking officers,Prof, sales man, sales top management, lawyers or bloggers, most of our own personnel dairy is empty.
All we did perhaps was, jotting down our mum phone number for s.o.s reasons.
Some of us goes fanatically collecting diaries before new year.
At the end of the day the old collectable dairies would be left in dust.
However, let me tell you a real gentalman whom keep his diary full, each single day.
This is not a "bluff", he did and piles of the dairies is still stored away at my late grand mums attic.

My late grand father "Tok Wak" that is my mums dad.
Wow.....what a strict disciplinarian he is.All my mums sibling remembered the lesson well.
He being the Principle Head Inspector of Schools in Malacca my home town, knows him for the"No Nonsense" approach.Till now people remember"Cikgu Dollah Puchong"(Cikgu=teacher)Puchong was his nick name.Puchong is a bird similar to a swan.Long neck and long legs.
That is how my late grand dad looks like.Well built with long legs and long neck. The name stuck till this days, way pass his death in 1992 at 92.
The school teacher who plays the violin, not concerto on Bach Em off couse but simple tune to fill his time and an instrument to brings joy to the family.
Simple tune may be "Tudung Periok" or"Grand Dad,Duke of York".
To be honest I never had the chance to hear him playing.
According to my late grand mum ledgend he is quite a player.Use to play at
'Kenduri kawin' or at 'Mandi Safar'ie. something like the wedding reception or a local carnival celeberation the Muslim month of Safar.A teacher whom is the state champion in Billarda old hen on Keroncong.Keroncong is similar to the reaggae beat or perhaps the Hawaian music except it is a bit decent.

His diary is fill from 1952 till his weak hands began to trumble in early 1990.No joke,he still write till his last breath. Not a novel or anything inparticular important in nature but notes of what his children gave him,his children school fees reminder, notes on any kenduri (party)of families members,my late grandma doctors appointment, her due payment to the grocries shop or simple jotting of his daily spending expenditure.Yes triffty.
Off course he has to, being the bread winner with 10 schooling children, he has to be triffty.

Yes in the old days the credit system exist on trust. Now every single item is "CASH"
However it facinates me his passion and that still strikes me of what an extraordinary gentalmen,a low profiler in the society and yet kept his words and built relation on trust, and maintance his fine tuning with the family well,he is.I being the witness.
How many of us still do?

That is what I call "QUALITY "of a man.

Specking of quality....in "Zen The Art of Motor Cycle Maintance" I found this phrase to share with you bloggers...!

Lastely Happy New 2006,don't count the years just count the cries!!!!!

from Zen......'quality are internal and external aspects of the same thing.A person who sees Quality and feels it as he works,is a person who cares.A person who cares about what he sees and does,is a person whom is bound to have some characteristic of Quality....

And I say..........Iya.....
